Sojourner Truth Print
$27.00
Sojourner Truth was the first black woman to sue a white man in the United States courts and win. Her acts didn’t stop or even start there— she has been a voice of freedom since her emancipation.
At the 1851 Women’s Rights Convention held in Akron, Ohio, Truth delivered what is now recognized as one of the most famous abolitionist and women’s rights speeches in American history. The speech was titled Aint I a Woman (even though those words were not likely actually spoken). We encourage you to look it up!
